Sacramento Engagement: Tessa + Steven

Imagine finding someone just like you, with the exact same major, someone who is passionate about the same things and hey, who even went to the same exact college as you did!!! Tessa and Steven found each other online and after meeting in person have never left each other’s side since. Steven proposed a year after they first met, on the exact same day, and this year they are making it official also on the same September day when they first met! And to add to their awesomeness, these two are asking their guests to donate to their favorite local charities instead of giving them wedding gifts.

Tessa and Steven, you two are amazing. I love your passion to give back to others, your sweet smiles and kind hearts! Thank you for the sweetest January afternoon of roaming midtown streets. I’m so lucky to have met you two and can’t wait to see what the future hold for you. Much love, Yuliya.

Tessa used to work at the Tower Theater in Sacramento and these a few decades old letters, were used in movie titles, coolest thing ever or what?

Gorgeous people + gorgeous light = a very sweet combination!

Oh Tessa, you’re gorgeous!

While strolling the midtown streets together we found this parked red vespa and my heart melted! Love these!

And the best for last!

Slideshow coming soon!

Could you start a Christmas week better way than this? This afternoon I had the pleasure of hanging out with Andrew and Allie for a few Christmas photos and at the end of the photo shoot Andrew was on his knee with a ring! I’ll let the pictures do the talking, cause I’m super thrilled for them!

The family was nearby to join in on the fun!

Allie and Andrew, this was definitely a movie like experience especially with the rain, and hey maybe just a bit better! Congratulations to you both! Can’t wait to see what the future holds for you two! Lots of love, Yuliya

Alison & Mario: SF Presidio Engagement Session

It could have been the story of Tom meeting Summer in the elevator, except there was no music in the background and she doubted they would speak again. Mario took on a part time job where Alison happened to work. Noticing the new guy in the elevator she used the waiting time to introduce herself. She called the meeting awkward, he didn’t think much of it, but he did remember her. Weeks later he invited her to a hangout through their mutual friend. And not long after he asked her on a movie date. Somewhere in between the movie that made her dizzy, the popcorn and the soda, she noticed his care and attentiveness. He was different and something in him made her keep saying yes to every date he asked her on. Next June there will be more yeses from both of them and I’m so thrilled to be a part of their wedding on the calm shores of Lake Tahoe.

Alison & Mario, thank you for the great time this past Saturday. I’m so thrilled to have met you and learned a little bit about you at our session. Thank you for your beautiful smiles and big hearts. Can’t wait to see you again!!! Love, Yuliya

When I saw a vespa randomly standing in the driveway, I knew this was going to be a fun shoot!!!

Good looking together or what?

And that’s what love looks like in black and white!

And since it’s fall . . . how about some beautiful foliage in the photos

Dima & Nadia: Sacramento Downtown Anytime Shoot

He’s a drummer, she’s a singer, and in their spare time . . . they’re both models.

I’ve known these two for some time and I can’t even count how many times Dima has rescued me with letting me borrow his photography gear. Oh and I’ll never forget that one time when Dima answered my phone call and tried to help me figure out some camera setting before a shoot, while skiing in the mountains (correction: snowboarding … you think you know a guy). That’s sacrifice and one of my favorite stories. It’s an honor to finally have you two in front of my camera!

Dima and Nadia I had the bestest time running around rooftops with you this afternoon. Thank you for the amazing time. I loved getting to know you better and more so documenting a sunny October afternoon in your second year of marriage! Oh and if you ever sign a modeling contract with Express please mention that I helped you start your career. Yours truly, Yuliya.

Downtown Sacramento never looked this good

Oh Nadia, you’re a true beauty!

Pretty bling . . .

A favorite . . .

Extra thanks to Angelica for Nadia’s lovely makeup job!

After a quick outfit change we scoured the streets from some pretty light and it did not disappoint.

Cheers, Yuliya
