Laurin & Chris: Engagement, Menlo Park

“I’m so glad you didn’t go for a lawyer!” Laurin said looking at Chris as she retold the story of how they met. Both pursuing different fields for their careers, they crossed paths at a local high school where they both now teach. Walking by the pool one day Laurin noticed a good looking water polo coach going about his business on a sunny afternoon. Curious about him, she made a circle around the pool, which gave her another good look at Chris. In a matter of weeks they met, and now Chris made a circle around the bar just to talk to Laurin. Two weeks later they went out on their first date and have been together ever since. Last January Laurin and Chris hiked up one of the beautiful waterfalls of snowy Yosemite, and at the top Chris proposed. They celebrated with a bottle of champagne, which Laurin was carrying all the way up the trail in her backpack, time to time questioning the weight of its contents. This June they are making it official in the happy hollow of their home, and I can’t wait till their wedding.

Laurin and Chris, I am so privileged to have met you guys, and your photo shoot was really a blast! Thank you for the time you put into your shoot, for scouring the locations, going outfit shopping, putting together the picnic and so much more. I can’t wait to hang out with you guys again.

I noticed this bridge while driving, and Laurin also suggested it for one of the photo spots. When you see eye to eye with your client, it’s a match made in heaven!

This happens to be my older sister’s favorite shot and I don’t blame her. I always wanted to take a picture like this!

Picnic time!

Laurin and Chris drive their beach cruisers to school every day and I am sooooo jealous.

For our third location we headed to an orchard near by, and I absolutely loved it!

“You’d think we would write on chalk boards both being teachers!” Chris mentioned. He did though prove to have the best skills with chalk πŸ˜‰

On the way to the orchard we found this wheelbarrow near the parking lot and decided to use it for the shoot. Love it!

For the last location we stopped by at the Alpine Inn where Laurin and Chris went out for their first date. Right at the entrance was a 1939 Ford, and we were lucky to get a shot with it! This is one of my favorites!

We had to inconvenience a few folks watching intently their football game to get a shot here, but I think it was well worth it!

Happy Tuesday!
