There she goes . . .

Yuliya's Photo Journal

Meet Yuliya

I pronounce my name as in “you” and “leah” put together, and accent on the “you” part ;) . Some day I am going to create a list of all the different ways Starbucks baristas spell my name, it’s rather amusing.

I love waking up early and going to a coffee shop near by for a cup of extra hot vanilla latte and a good read at hand. My favorite place in town is a small European bakery, which reminds me of my European heritage. The bakery is furnished with beautiful vintage decor and rusty chandeliers, which I love. It can be loud at lunch times, but I do perfectly fine in noise. City sounds are one of my favorite types of noise, along with the sound of raindrops falling on the pavement, and soft playing of the piano.

I love my family. I have three sisters, one older and two younger and we’re all two years apart (I have perfect parents too ;) . Two of my sisters are married and the younger one has the most adorable son, we call him Josiah. I have no brothers, but my sister’s husbands are superb, and fit in seamlessly into our family.

If I could close my eyes and wake up in a different place, I would see in front of me a rooftop terrace, with a lonely bench standing by the parapet, looking over the Old City of Jerusalem. Right behind the bench is a lovely garden leading to a sand colored building with large windows. That rooftop scenery has never escaped my mind. I visited the place regularly when I lived in Israel during and after my college years, and spend many hours taking in the views of the city from that private rooftop.

I would love to shoot weddings in London, and the old streets of Italy sound tempting too.

In all the busyness of life I’ve learned to appreciate the small things, the moments in between, and it’s the simple things that make me smile.

I love all shades of blue and my room is painted in teal color.

I love traveling and have done quite a bit during my lifetime. My family moved from Crimea in 1998, (it is the place known for Crimean War for the history lovers). During college I did a study abroad semester in Israel. I went back to Israel a few years later for another semester and then spend four more months there traveling to Turkey, Egypt and Jordan. I have yet to do a trip to Europe.

I love art and find my escape in photography.

One of my favorite things about my job is the people I get to work with. They are just fabulous. I have quite of a list of all the friends I’ve made while traveling. Strangers on the streets and in the next airplane seats, that all became my friends. That’s a little bit how I view every relationship I make. It’s as if we were supposed to be friends and we finally met. I get to go to their weddings and share in their stories over a cup of coffee. This to me is beautiful and priceless.

I love stories and would love to learn yours as well.

my sisters . . .

These two were shot by one of my lovely brides at the end of the photo shoot!

On my last birthday I compiled a list of 25 things people might not know about me, you can read it HERE.

Thanks for stopping by,
Yours truly,

Yuliya Molitvenik

Great presentation, like it a lot. You are very artistic both in thought, word and action.
